Income Tax Time

Predictable seasons, like changing tides,
though subtle or sudden, can be foreseen.
Like March, April has its normal ides;
less favored features will intervene.

While multitudes enjoy orderly,
processes of keeping current accounts ,
there are those of us who find that we,
must tally. unexpected amounts.

Spring equinox barely underway,
snow bidding its tentative adios,
not ready for the privilege to pay,
income taxes as our books we close.

We bite the bullet, take the blank and pen;
an expert's knowledge our fear relaxes,
as we submit to Uncle and once again,
do our part, report and pay our taxes.
